Whoa, that's a beefy looking thing! Jeff made this, correct?

Semi-related question... Is your lathe normally mounted like it is in the pictures? How can you handle being that far away from the bed? It would kill me!

Jeff made it. I'm in Columbia and I'm tempted to get one from Jeff for my PM 3520 B. I don't mind the factory one on it, but I think that Jeff's is bigger and better. He also made two "dog legs" for me and they are great.

another something to ponder, what do the doglegs look like?

Sorry Steve, I didn't answer your question. You're right about there being too much space in front of the lathe bed, but I've been too lazy to do anything about it. Fortunately, the dvr xp spindle head swivels.
As for a dog leg... Charlie, it offsets the tool rest and lets you get into spaces more easily. Here's a pic of the one Robust makes:

Now that is a heavy duty banjo. I am going to have to look into one of those.

That is seriously heavy duty, Hilel. I'm impressed with the quality apparent in the pic. It looks to be built to last! Hit me up when you come back up to VA when you do.<br>

Hilel, It sure looks nice in its new home! I wish I had time to make one for myself, but you know what they say, the cobblers kids have no shoes!

Have fun with it,

Jef
