Just got an email newsletter from LN, mentioning they've got the high-angle-frogs for the No. 3 and No. 5 1/4 now. I've been eyeing a No. 3 for a while, even though I don't really *need* another expensive plane . . . I think this may have just knocked it a notch or two up the list...

I have had the #3 w/ 55 deg HAF for a couple of months now. I like it very much. I might even unload another smoother in its favor before too long. At LN prices I have to keep the herd fairly tight. For tough woods and grains the extra angle of attack, combined with the relatively easy to push plane seems to be a good combination.
