And, he's gone.

I heard the chant, and could feel the feet stomping, reverberating throughout Spartan Stadium many times - none more memorable than the November 1966 10-10 "Tie one for the Gipper" game. And - yes - I can hold a 45-year grudge, and I'm planning on extending it.................;)

The Spartan fans were stomping the stadium floor, and chanting "Kill, Bubba, Kill........Kill, Bubba, Kill". Spartan Stadium was literally shaking - all the way up to the 3d level.

And those "other guys" were chanting "Kill Bubba.....Kill Bubba."

His bizarre sideline chain-gang knee injury as a Pro kept him from achieving his real potential in the NFL, but those things happen.

I can still see those cool, crisp, autumn days in East Lansing....walking through town with a pretty high school classmate date on my arm, going to the stadium......ahhh, well........Kill, Bubba, Kill.......

Amen. I was there, graduated civil engineering 1969. Spent my first two years on the first floor of Case Hall where a lot of the jocks hung their, well, jocks. Bubba was legend. RIP my friend.
