Well, after picking these legs off the bottom of an old couch a few weeks ago I decided to see what could become of them. I decided to keep the shape so after a little reworking, hollowing I decided to give it a lid from one of the other legs. It looks like pine to me. I added a Walnut knob and a few rings around the edge for looks. It's finished with 4 coats of lacquer. Not too bad considering it was headed for the landfill. C&C welcome.

Great transformation, Donny!! Really some nice work, and very ingenious, actually. I think the wood looks more like poplar, or some type of fruit wood.
