I am considering buying one of these. Does anyone have any opinions about them? Can you really use it with any saw? Any kind of feedback is really appreciated.

I owned the Stanley version of that, not as pretty but much the same design. I gave it away at some point. The cast iron mechanism depends on the joint between back and base for its stiffness, and it's just too much to ask of a small, unbraced joint like that. There's an unavoidable amount of friction between saw and saw holder. I found the box balky and frustrating.

Watch for/save up for a Millers-Falls Langdon Acme miter box (see below) or one of the similar saws from Stanley or others. You won't regret it; they're pro-grade tools, while the 200 is more a consumer-grade tool.

Is the Stanley 358 as good as the lngdon?

I've used a few. I bought a Langdon Acme. Bill's looks to be in good shape. I've got a nbr 74.

That's not mine, just a pic grabbed on the interweb. Mine's a slightly different model, I think - steel legs rather than cast.
