in a 6"x48" belt and 12" disc combo sander which is the better choice 1750 or 3450 rpm?

I've got the 1750 Grizzly and like it. Probably doesn't burn wood as quick?

Personally I'd prefer the 1750. Faster will remove material more quickly though. Probably boils down to personal preference. Any chance to try one of each and decide?

Any chance to try one of each and decide? no chance of trying one first, but i'm leaning towards the slower 1750, my thinking is less chance of a burn and less chance of sanding past the line

I went with the 1750 rpm and am very happy with that "combination", as it were...
