. . . and of my 50 year old body! My tree guy called on Monday to tell me he had a walnut tree for me. This is the second of two loads of I cut:
203480
Here is a picture of the two loads after all the bark and most of the sapwood have been cut away and the blanks have been sealed:
203481 (there are 3 non-walnut pieces in there as well)
I needed a day in between the two loads for my aches and pains to subside! I think it is less the cutting and lifting that gets me than it is the bending over to anchorseal the ends.
There is still one long section of trunk left, but it is smaller in diameter than the ones I cut and I don't know if there is enough heartwood in it to justify the effort. I tried turning a few pieces out of my last walnut tree that incorporated the sapwood, but I found that it mildew-stained and cracked when drying so I am going to stick to the heartwood for a while.
Thanks for looking!
