First time poster, please forgive me if this is not in the right forum category ...

Within the last year, I remember seeing plans for a shop cabinet where they used full-width aluminum drawer pulls, similar to what you'd find on a SnapOn-style mechanics box. But, now I can't seem to remember where I saw the plans and I can't find them online.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

Thanks!

Hey Scott,

I don't recall the plans, but you might try Googlin' "Extruded Aluminum" or "Extruded Aluminum Drawer Pulls"

Here's a website I found:

http://www.extrude-a-trim.com/index.asp

http://www.extrude-a-trim.com/pdfs/Assorted_Fixtures.pdf

Hope this helps....

If you cannot find what you need, you could try using 1"X2" aluminum channel, and put it upside down on the top of the drawer front. Instant drawer pulls.

ShopNotes, and WoodSmith magazines have both featured storage type cabinets with the pulls you speak of.

I've got the publications, I'll just need to find them unless some one else beats me to it.

Shopnotes Issue 90 is the 1st one I can think of

Might want to check those links, papa Aaron. A plain ol' Google page opens.

Thanks Aaron, the ShopNotes one is the one I was thinking of. It's probably around here somewhere, covered in sawdust!

The cart in shop notes 90 is nice -- I've adapted it for an under the wing table saw cabinet and as a planting cart for the wife.

Being able to adapt the ideas from one plan to another is one of the most fun parts, IMO. My friends and family who don't do woodworking are always amazed that I can take several sets of plans and combine them into an original piece.

I'm planning on doing some built-in base cabinets in my shop with the full aluminum pulls on the drawers, similar to the ShopNotes 90 cart but not mobile.

One day i'll have to post my garage shop workbench. It's a combination of the left side of Norm's miter bench and storage, a family handman work bench, shop notes miter bench, and then i have the #90 cart that slides under neath the handyman work bench modified plan.

The fact it came together as drawn out still surprises me.
