Our woodworking group chose "make a stool" as the challenge for the month.
I chose to make a step stool, using box joints done at an angle. The technique was to rig a sloped extension on the tablesaw miter guage. The slots were cut
with a dado blade and spaced using my old plastic Incra-jig. Wood is walnut and hard maple. Finish is Deft-oil.

Dan,
That looks great! I really like how you filled the ends of the joints with the maple, it really looks great!

That's really sharp! The angled box joints really work and I like how you filled with the contrasting wood. It not only adds interest, it also makes a nice visual warning as to where the edges of the top are!

Leave it to an SMC-er to take the likes of a lowly stool and make it into something magnificent!:) That is way cool, Dan! Very well done.:)
