This hollow form is about 8" tall. The wall thickness is just under 1/4", finished with lacquer.

Well done! And, beautiful wood. What is water elm?? Not familiar with that one.

Indeed, very nice form and finish - ditto on the 'water elm???" But having said that, we have so few hardwoods here on the left coast that I am surprised quite often with a new (to me) wood I read about here.

These trees have lots of sapwood, some have little or no heartwood.

Now that's a hollow form! Love the form, grain orientation, NE opening and the finish! Very nice work on this one Dennis - you should be real happy with it!
