I would like to see a number of finials in pictures that I could look at as a design source for some work I am doing.

I have watched Drozda's DVD, and looked through many threads here on SMC, but it does not give pics on a comparison level to be able to view them in close proximity to one another so as to be able to compare nuances in design.

Anyone know of some animal like this on the net? Maybe I am barking up the wrong tree, but thought the question was worth asking of this group..........Thanks!

I will be interested in seeing if something of this sort exists also. Great question.

Count me in for interest on this one. I've thought about doing a bunch of cropping of pics I have saved but then I would rather have the overall form too.

Roger, I don't know of such an animal, but if it will help some, here are some pics I collected early on when I started doing finials. The two "double ended" are Keith Burns (I think??), the grouping of forms is by Robin Costelle, and I simply do not recall the source for the other pic - sorry.

Roger I think it was Scott H that made his "Forest of Finials" here....yup found it...

Is this like what your looking for? I did one similar but Scotts are by far better then the one I posted.
