This is a set of Maple Burl Bottles that I had At St. Paul. I call it a Family because they came from the same stump burl from a very large tree. They range from 7" to 18" in height to 2 1/2" --- 6" in dia. Dad the largest has the same problem I have with gravity taking over his body. Joe if I screwed this up please fix it. I need to upgrade my brain to keep up with this darn computer stuff. Thanks.

Wow Dave............I like that figured wood. A question on the form.......is it hollowed to the outside shape or does it have a straight hole bored out.........that is not meant to insult, so take my question as being just curious about the hollowing. I have heard you do some very nice work.

By the way.........not meaning to hijack your wonderful work.....I am really liking the CBN wheel! thanks for your great service!!!

The technical skill required to hollow that shape of form with that small an opening is not average, I know that for a fact. Just asked because I felt like you had hollowed it that way, and I admire that kind of skill!

Very neat shapes and the wood is great! The grouping makes them even better!

Roger,
They could be hollowed from both ends and then one end plugged.

Beautiful stuff! I like them individually, but as a grouping, they're even better.

Great work, David! One of the things I like about your turning is the variety. Your pieces are remarkably "clean" and well designed, and the execution is flawless. That fancy wood sure doesn't hurt the looks either!

See what happens when you make your own tools?! Those are really amazing Dave...you sure have the bottom hollowing thing down pat!
