Center support double dado question

I'm building a bench with shelves underneath for shoes, and was wondering how others glue a center shelf in 3/4 plywood with dado's at the same spot just on opposites of the vertical center support. I generally shoot a brad to help clamp in non seen areas, but can only nail the first dado, not the second. Are others just gluing it all up at once? What if there are multiple center dividers?

I just glue mine, I cut the dadoes about 1/8 deep and then glue them up. I do clamp them up with cauls so the center is making good contact with the divider for a good glue up.
