Here is the 3rd in this little series of Elm forms with brass finials. I decided to make this one with an Elm lid. The lid is a flush fit with a black and gold textured band to give a bit of a border between form and lid and also to tie into the brass aspect.
The form is 4 1/2" tall and the finial 1 1/2".
Comments and critiques are most welcome.

Johnny - already interesting to see different materials an dhow they can be used in woodturning! I really like the brass finial and the colored band does highlight it! Very nice work! Thanks for sharing!

Johnny, the elm sure is a nice color with the brass, and the band adds a lot. Great piece.

Pretty sweet looking. Not totally sold on the brass but that's just a personal pref. Silver maybe....

Interesting concept. What kind of brass shape does it start out as? Just wondering as I am thinking about the scraps I might have laying around. Screws, bolts, plumbing parts, etc. etc.!

Well constructed piece Johnny. The form could stand on it's own, but you really stepped it up!
