At the request for more pictures, here is a 2" wide hand vise I added the necessary parts to make it into a little bench vise. It was done a long time ago,and has gotten old,and a bit used looking over the years, etc. Trouble with these tools is they get USED!! Especially bad around fluxes, acids, etc. in metal work.

Used to could buy these from Gesswein(I think) years ago,but they were all gone by the time I saw them. The parts are tool steel, silver soldered and pinned onto the body. I filed up the wing nut, too,to make it a bit nicer. Also turned the ball on the end of the screw.

The screw on these type vises has to have a curve in it to match the pivoting that the jaw does as it opens,if you see what I mean.

Once again, the photo is BAD. My small camera does NOT focus reliably. I need to get a newer one. Sorry.

Didn't ANYONE like this little vise? Not even Brian Ashton, who asked for more posts?

It is cute, George. I wish I had better metal working skills.

this can be modified to use on the drill press or as a fly-tying vise-
make two units that will clamp a part together and you got a third helping hand
