A while ago, I said I was going to do this.
It is our first attempt and I'm going to shoot it again, but I'd love some feedback on whether or not you like it and/or what changes/improvements you might suggest.

will Ancorseal give the same results? I just coated a lot of Oak Burl with it as well as some Mesquite.

I think the videos are nice. The sound was a little low for me, but it may be the laptop I'm using. The technique is very well detailed, but I'm thinking it could be compressed into a single video for the sake of brevity. Kudos to you for taking the time to do something to help the rest of us.

AnchorSeal is a good product. There has been conversation that the formula has changed and that some of us (including me) have had problems with cracking...

I STRONGLY suggest that you use at least two coats of AnchorSeal, allowing drying time in between. Other than that, you should be fine.

David,
I'm in complete agreement on the brevity thing. My College Movie student filmed it (not Spielberg yet). The sound will be addressed in the next iteration and the lighting and focus on detail will be better.
This is actually the second version. I'm going to take those two and write a script then select the wood to fill the script so I'm not repeating the same things over and over again, then I'm going to PRACTICE taking out the "ums" and pauses.
I'll post that too.

You're welcome (to all) on the effort thing, but as I think I said, finding good wood, cutting it then losing it to improper sealing and storage seems silly.
