Nothing fancy, just a simple blanket chest. The hardware came today so I installed it. Still needs a few more coats of danish oil. Hand cut dovetails and 100% solid oak... things happen like that when you can get solid wood for less then ply.

This chest is the first piece of a bedroom set. The set will be this chest, a bed frame, and a pair of nightstands... maybe when I have those done I will convince the client he needs a pair of dressers to finish out the set. I have already built him a table and chairs...

It may be a simple blanket chest but the hand cut dovetails sure add a sweet touch to the build..
Nice job Andrew.

Very nice. That will hold a lot of blankets! I love the HC dovetails.

Nice chest ! ( Don't say that in mixed company...hoot! )

I was wondering about the weight of the lid. I'm going to be making one of these for my grand kids and I'm concerned about little fingers. May I ask where you bought the hardware and do the hinges on the ends of the lid have a weight restriction or friction restriction?

Thanks !

Nice chest, I'm about to build one out of knotty alder.

Terry the only place I've found so far that sells hardware, you might give Rockler a peek.
