A friend moved to a new house on Friday and Saturday morning returned to the old one to get another load from his shop to discover that someone had broken in and stolen a bunch of tools. Luckily a lot of the easy to carry stuff had been moved, but they still got a pretty big list.

This happened in the Ann Arbor, MI area but of course the tools could shop up anywhere.

If you see a suspicious sale, post to this thread or PM me and I'll pass the information on to him. He currently has limited internet access--had to type out this list on his phone.

Sorry to see this Matt. I'm sure we all are. To me the shop is a very special place and to have it broken into and stuff stolen would really hurt. Just a guess but I would think a lot of people would feel the same.

I hope your freinds gets his tools back and without too much trouble and with justice for the thief.

It takes us years to acquire all these tools. This really angers me. We work hard for the tools we have and someone just comes along to take what they want. Keep an eye out on craigs list. So many things show up there as well as all the pawn shops.

Make sure your friend has notified not just the police, but also provided the list to as many pawn shops as he can find...many times, folks try to turn this stuff quickly. Craig's List, too.

Wow! That's a lot of hard sweat and blood out the window. Hope they catch the scumsucker!

That really stinks! Unfortunately, it sounds like it was someone with WW'ing experience when you look at the planes he took. Most wood hackers wouldn't be interested.

Sorry to hear that, hope they catch them!

I feel really bad for him.

My most recent account of theft was this weekend I had spent a couple hours preparing firewood I set outside drying on the side of my house not in plain view from the street. I was shocked somebody stole ALL of the firewood I had planned to use for a 4th of july bonfire at the beach. This was easily a full truck load so whoever took it had to have a truck so i'm guessing a gardner with a pickup or something similar.

I bet they used it for a bonfire themselves... :(

Seriously though... who steals firewood??? I'm suprised they didn't take my garden hose... heh

Well, let's un-hijack the thread.

Those of us in the area have the list and will be keeping an eye open for these tools.
