But - it works like a champ!

Any guesses what it does?

(I'll post a couple more pictures later on of it "in action". It's somewhat of a necessity for most shops.)

Oops. Forgot the picture...
I'm not sure why this was moved to the off topic area though?

While the thing sure is ugly - it does more than it's share of work around the shop.
It's very tool and shop related.

Do you stand on it to get extra height at your machines?

I did stand on it and jump up and down on it for good measure to test it out :D

The post shows no history of being moved.

What's so ugly about it?

Does it have wheels?

LOL!
Ugly is in the eye of the beholder I guess! I'm sure with a little effort on my part I could dress it up quite a bit an make it look a lot more presentable.

Nope - no wheels on it -but,,,I could always stick some nylon bed casters on the corners I suppose w/out that bothering what it does.
I'll have to think on that a bit.

It's the bottom side of a home made Vacuum table.

1) It's a portable counter top, you place it on top of cast iron tables to prevent your friends from putting cold drinks on them, and leaving rust rings.

2) It's one of those things my father was always making, "Something to make you ask questions".

3) It's a landing pad for the T.A.R.D.I.S.

Regards, Rod.

It's a slab of concrete that wouldn't look so ugly, if you'd pick up that piece of pretend wood.

Patch a hole in your shop wall, place a funnel. No more running in the house so often.

I'm not sure what it is but at this point I doubt it is as interesting as its being made out to be.

LOL! Ok, ok, I can take a hint. ;)
I hope this isn't too anticlimactic :D

I struggled with getting the middle seats from the van from the driveway - up the walk - and into the living room whenever I needed to take them out to fit sheet oods in the van. I saw a reader's tip in one of the WW'ing magazines for an extension base for a two wheeler that fit what I needed to a T. I happened to have this cutoff of a door laying around, some left over contact cement and some other scrap, so I tossed it together.
It's not heavy duty by any stretch - but - neither is the two wheeler.
The bottom shot of it shows the section of 3/4" ply that the plate of the two wheeler slips into. That keeps the base from tipping forward when tilted back.

What surprised me somewhat is the amount of use I've gotten out of it. It makes hauling garbage cans to the curb - or the ones loades with wood scraps to the fire pit in the backyard - a breeze.
