I paid just under $20 for this. Of course it is missing the concentric lever, which would cost $2, (from Stanley), if I cared enough to buy one. But since I never adjust it I'm not going to bother.

One boo-boo. I got carried away and Japanned the pressure lever dealie.

OOPS. :o

Before and after pics, plus the obligatory fluffy stuff -- birdseye maple in case you're wondering.

Very nice restoration, Tom. A beauty.

Very nice, Tom. I had one of these fixer-uppers come in over the weekend that I put through electrolysis. It has some significant pitting on the sole near the heel and on one edge (again toward the heel) that couldn't be seen in the auction photos so I've got some lapping in my future. But, it should be pretty quick compared to the No. 5 I spent HOURS and HOURS on; the block plane should be a piece of cake! I hope mine turns out as good as yours did.

Great job!

Mike
