I expiermented and come up with this. It took a while to make since I had to make jigs to hold all the pieces in order to put on the CA finish. C&C welcome.

Very nice Donny. While I was the the AAW Symposium, I picked up the pendant chuck. After I finish the pepper mills I'm making, I'm going to try some peandants.

Those earrings really set off your eyes Donny!!Ha!!!:D Some great wood put to good use. CA finish was a good choice. I feel inspired to get mine out..as soon as the resin fumes clear out of the shop:mad:

The pendant is just with the pendant chuck and the earrings are turned with my Talon chuck with a piece of scrap wood turned to just smaller than the earring itself and a piece of 2 sided tape. I do get to chase the around the shop some since they are only held on with 2 sided tape. They are fun to make. Most are sold before I get them made.

Who needs precious metals and stones when you can make wood look so regal. Now, a woman might have a slightly different perspective but would still have to appreciate this jewelery.

Really nice pieces Donny. Those wouldn't get past the wife so I would have to make two sets to sell one. LOL

To CA the pendant I first sand the front (oval) side to 2500 grit(a lower grit would work but it makes it smooth as glass when finished at 2500). I turn the lathe down to 300rpm and fold up a paper towel to about 1/2" wide. I then hold the paper towel against the spinning pendant and apply 3-4 drops of CA to the towel and wipe it on the pendant. Apply light pressure then spray with acelorator. Put on 5-7 coats. I then wet sand from 1500 through 12000 grit.
For the backside, I made a round piece of 1/4" popular to about the size of the pendant and carve out the center to where the (oval) part of the pendant will fit into. I then put a 1/4" square piece of 2 sided tape on the pendant and stick it to my jig. I then put 2 sided tape on my pendant chuck to hold the jig and pendant so I can add CA to the back side of the pendant. The inital set up takes a few minutes but it's alot better than spray laquor. The CA finish is smoother and more durable than anything I have put on before. The earrings are done in the same manner. Any questions just send me a PM and I will help if I can. I can post more pics if anyones interested.
