When I bought my PLS 3.6 there was issues with the tube so Universal replaced it with what was obviously and refurb.

Now after less than 500 hours my laser seems to be losing power. I've done the basics like cleaning the lens' and filters but it doesn't help.

Short of buying a $750.00 tester from Laserbits is there a way to test the power output?

ULS used to send out a tester as a loaner. They would take your charge card number then charge you if you didn't return it on time.

And you can rent the PowerWizard testers from Laserbits for $100... I ended up buying one for half price on eBay.

You can also cut a piece of acrylic you should have a standard setting for the speed and power for 1/8" if that cuts poorly then it is something to do with the laser power or misaligned lenses. Have you check them also heat will cause this I know that if my laser is cool it cuts much cleaner and consistent then if ti is hot. see what the tem of the exhaust air is coming off the laser tube.
