Guys,

I posted a few weeks ago how happy I was with my LV scraper plane. At the time I was working a fairly large glue-up of fiddleback maple. I've completed the endtable, of which the peice I posted earlier became the top. Please follow the link provided for additional pictures of the endtable and the sofatable that preceeded it which I finished up over the Christmas timeframe.

Still can't get over how well that LV 112-like scraper performs on the fiddleback and birds-eye maple I used for these two peices!

Thanks for looking,

Jim in Idaho :o

WOW! Both of those peices look awesome! Your use of figured maple in these peices is perfect.

Jim:

Great job, and the figure on that maple is just beautiful. I can see that you've put the scraper plane to great use!

Jim, beautiful pieces! I can see I'm going to have to better acquaint myself with my LV scraper plane! I've tried it out, but haven't had the guts to do it on the real figured stuff yet. You've inspired me!:) Anyhow, love the detail on both pieces. Looks to me like the kids like the sofa table, too!:)

I like that, Jim. Beautiful design. Great wood. Splendid combination. That sofa table on your site really bowled me over!! Outstanding work!

Beautiful wood - and design. The slight curve of the rail bottoms changes what would have been a boxy design into something very elegant.
