I just turned a small Pecan Burl globe and am starting on the Stem later butmy question is about the globe. It has a good bit of bark still on it throughthe openings that came about during turning. My concern is that the bark willcome off. I was wondering if I were to apply WoP to the piece (8-10 coats) ifit would have glue qualities that would hold the bark in place.

Chris,

That might work, but I'd put thin CA glue on the incursions and let it penetrate. I think that would hold better.

Chris - I would put on a coat of WOP first - then use the CA to glue in place. By putting the WOP on first it will prevent the CA from staining the wood. After the CA dries - then put on as many coats of WOP as you want. Should work.

Thanks Steve & Brodie. I put a good bit of Med CA while I was turning to help keep the bark on during that. I will do as you sugest Steve and add a coat of WoP then some more CA. Cant wait to be done to share this one.
