Heres two tables I just finished. Made of QS Sapele , Padouk inlay , with died pear wood stringing around inlay and Gaboon Ebony trim. Push click doors and soft close slide. I have them in the light hoping the padouk chills a bit in its vibrance to its cousin sapele.

Very nice! Both sapele and especially padauk will darken very substantially, as both are photosensitive. My padauk items, now ten years old are now dark brown as is the Sapele. I wouldn't be in a hurry to rush the process.

Just awesome. I absolutely love the looks of both the woods used. Sapale is one of my favorite woods in a finished peice but happens to be my least favorite to work, especially ribbon striped stuff. Just nasty interlocked grain that requires too much sanding and scraping. I've also had a heck of a time with the last peice moving all over the place. Had to scrap the cabinet door a make another due to is. Sure is beautiful once you get past all this though and the reward of all the trouble is amazing.

Very nice work. I also wouldn't rush the photosensitivity.

That string inlay and trim on the top really adds to the pieces. Real nice work Craig.

Really beautiful work, Craig! (I just bought some Sapele this morning and I hope I can get it looking even half as good as you did!)

Very cool. The padouk almost looks like it is floating in the sapele. Those will age beautifully.

Sapele in cabintery I dont find hard to work at all. A sander an sharp blades is all it needs. Carving or turning im not sure of.
