I just bought the Porter-Cable hvlp spray gun for water and oil base poly. Did I waste my money or will this gun work ok.
Thank you for any and all help. Jim Shockey

Jim. In fact I have two PSH1, and considering buying another. Haven't tried the water base stuff with them yet, but I spray oil based stain and lacquer with mine. One for stain, the other for lacquer. The reason I use two of them I got tired of having to disassemble and clean out the buildup of stain when I needed to shoot lacquer.
Nice easy priced guns, and they use about half of the material compared to a convential high pressure gun.
What I have found on the pressure setting is that they are recommended to run at ten pounds at the nozzle. But, the lacquer doesn't flow out nicely at this pressure. I run 20 pounds pressure and they do a lot better job. Steve
