Laserpro Mercury -- anyone converted to bottom draft ?

I'm looking to change function from a side draft to a bottom draft... has anyone else done this?

And instead of forking out $800 for a grid table, I thought some well placed holes might do the same job -

Has anyone else with a Mercury model done similar? Results?

You could hook up a vacuum type table and put the honeycomb or material atop this
Make a wood frame with a hole that can have a pipe attached , put a solid piece of anodised ally at the bottom , and a drilled piece on the top of the frame and make a hole in the mercurys casing to lead the vac tables hose out (2" diameter hose will work) and T the pipe into the vacuum/blower hose.
