Turned the biggest one on Monday, the medium one on Tuesday and the smallest one (with the rim) today. This is the 1st time I've turned a bowl with a rim and I kinda like how it turned out.
The biggest is about 9" x 5" and the other 2 are both about 8" x 2 1/2" all have a walnut oil finish.

Very nice bowls! I especially like the turquoise in the mesquite and the warm finish. Thx for posting.

Those are some great looking bowls, the one with the turquoise is especially nice. I really love the shape of the deep one though. The mesquite sure is purdy. Your finish is perfect on it too, Michael nailed it with "warm".

Edited to add: The rim is perfect Kathy. It flows with the rest of the form.

Those are some great looking bowls Kathy, and that wood is beautiful! I have only done 3 bowls but I am thinking that some of what you sent me is going to go to a bowl.

Nice bowls. Especially the big one which just screams "popcorn!!!" to me. The smaller ogee shape is very nice! I seem to recall a big chunk of this mesquite showing up here recently. Maybe with a bit of luck it will end up looking this good...

Nicely done, Kathy! I especially like that deep form, and I think turquoise and mesquite are a match made in Heaven. Do you use a steady rest when you turn these?

They are all nice, Kathy, and I like the deep one the best. You sure go from cutting up blanks to finished bowls quickly!

Thanks everyone! It's nice to turn bowls that don't warp out of round before the hollowing is even half done.

Thanks David! No steady rest (I only have a spindle steady), but I don't get much chatter with mesquite especially since the walls on these aren't real thin.
