I have been keeping an eye out for a planer on CL and such, and yesterday a ridged popped up on CL for $100. I was beginning to get discouraged with my hunt and was getting ready to go down to the borg and pick up the Ryobi.

I went and picked up the Planer this morning. It was still on the first side of the original blades and still has the extra set of blades that came with it. I decided not to haggle with the guy and handed over the cash. Only thing missing is the dust collector attachment.

My plan is in a month or so to pick up a grizzly jointer planer combo with the 10% coupon I have, but this should make my life a lot easier with the bedroom set commission I am starting work on. If I do that I am sure I can easily get my $100 back out of this planer.

I think I did pretty well.

Thats a good planer Andrew. I used to have one. I think Steel City is selling a version of it now.

Easy knife changes.

great find for $100. and it carries a lifetime guaranty, as do all the gray, emerson electric built ridgid stationary power tools.

Still can't complain. I have run some cherry, red oak, and some purple heart through it so far and it has done quite well.

It is going to save me a lot of time over hand scrubbing everything... :)

Sadly I am expecting to have enough profit from an in progress build that I am planning to pick up a Grizzly jointer/Planer with helical cutter head to replace my 6" jointer and this planer... now I am having doubts..... then I start thinking about a 12" jointer and I am torn.
