I turned this last week while trying to bust out of a little slump...just couldnt come up with anything creatively to get me going, so I just grabbed a small piece of wood and started turning. This is another piece of what John sent me, roughly "3 1/2 by "2 1/4. That African blackwood sure turns nice! About 6 coats of WOP and Beall buffed.

Nice little box, Tim! What kind of blackmail did you have to do to get JK to part with a piece of claro?

That is a great little box Tim. JK reminded me a while back that I live in Claro Central. I don't have to steal shipments off his doorstep anymore which made my wife happy...the gas was killing me!

Real nice one. My only suggestion is for your pictures. I would lower the camera a bit and give more of a side profile, yet enough elevation to show the curvature of the lid. Great work

Thanks for the kind words everyone!! This is my first lidded box where the seal is so good I get a really nice POP when I open the lid.

Scott, I know...grrrrrr,. that dang tripod of mine...well see my comments in the Big Leaf post about the tripod....piece of junk!! LOL

Tim I really like this one. I will have to try a lidded box one of these years.
