A TV cabinet that looks like a antique that will be in the same room.

These will be interesting to make , although the ones we'll be making will be smaller in size for better scale under the TV.

The design concept .

The area as is now ,

No carving or scroll detail I don't think,

This should be fun to watch. What exactly is the massive antique?
That’s some interesting stone work on the fireplace.

A Germany buffet or chine cabinet. I should have taken a photo of it before we took it apart at the antique shop to deliver it to the job site. The top section is about 50" in height , has 5 wood framed glass doors, quite heavy it took 4 of us the carry it and it was a strain even with four guys on the un-even ground outside!
The stone was another heavy lift, we slung they in the window with a boom truck,

Things on site have been busy , masons , tile guys , flooring delivery , sealing the concrete floors , etc etc , so not much has happened yet.
Material did get ordered! And I moved the unit around some to make room for other work to continue.
A few photo's of the upper unit:

Seems to be a miss - mash of quarter , rift and flat sawn wood , Red Oak I think.

Finally got some time to work on this project,
The jig to cut the parts with,

Stop block set-up for cutting to rough length,
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b299/PEG688/002-2.jpg
These are the 3/4" thick outer pieces,
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b299/PEG688/003.jpg
those clamps work nice for this if you can keep them out of the way of the router base as we'll see soon.
That same big spiral bit I used on the gun room work, very smooth cutting bit, Whitesides brand, nice people to order from , great bits IMO.
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b299/PEG688/004-1.jpg
The thinner 1/2" inner pieces first rout to shape then chamfer,
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b299/PEG688/006.jpg
As you can see these where screwed down I jig up to use the same hole for all of these rights and lefts the jig needed flipped over to make that happen, as the are a mirror image of each other so some slight modification had to be made to the 3/4" thick "side" of the two sided jig.
