I don't know why I didn't post this sooner, I guess I have been too busy with hollowing. I ended up winning an honorable mention for sculpture at my college's art show. I had turned a coolibah burl bowl, specifically for the show. I also decided to include this one "last minute". I turned this bowl specifically as a gift for two very close friends who found out they were expecting. It is now with them now. I'm glad I entered it. The show had some great artwork in it, and I felt pretty fortunate to have been recognized. I hope you enjoy. C&C is welcome and appreciated. Thanks for looking!

Very impressive. I like that burl. Your friends should be doubly please, as its not longer a 'bowl from a friend" its an award-winning piece of ART from a friend!!!!

Thanks everyone!

Steve, I know... I got caught up with finals, I had a ton of drawings and painting due for two art classes. Then after that my hollowing rigs showed up... :D

For future reference.... Gloats have a higher priority than art class! Besides - only takes a moment to post a gloat!!

Congrats again! Very pretty bowl!

Congrats here too. Beautiful wood. I really like the detail on the base of the foot. First time I have seen a bead done there and the use of two fillets just makes it stand out. Well done and thanks for letting us share in your award.
