Does anyone know where a person could see the covers of back issues of fine woodworking?

I am looking for a specific article but don't know the title.

It was an article about a coffee/hall table.

Sorry the memory is failing.

Hey Dan,

This page doesn't show the covers, but it does list the contents of some of the back issues, back to 1995 of Fine Woodworking.

I saw that, but my memory seems to only work with pictures!

You could try this. It's a page with links to all the gallery pics. Don't know if that includes the ones they show on the back covers or not.

I seem to recall that you could "Buy" individual articles online from FWW - It looks like they are no longer doing that?

MattYou still can. They're only 7.99 + 3.50 S&H each at http://www.taunton.com/store/pages/backissue_fw.asp . Not really worth it in this case though since there's no how-to article, just the picture on the back cover.

but I don't know the title of the article.

Carl, It was when they moved to the covers with white on them. It was an article about a coffee/hall table that I believe was a combination of cherry and maple. It had tapered legs and a mortise that stuck out from the leg.

Thanks all.

When I go to http://www.taunton.com/store/pages/backissue_fw.asp and click on the link to an issue there is a thumbnail of the cover. Will that work for you?

Edit: Oops. The covers are not visible on all of them!!

Perhaps it wasn't a cover but is would have been between 1993-1999

I attached what the profile of the leg looked like from my cloudy memory.

How about a table by a piano maker? A guy that worked for Steinway made a table after he retired. Sort of Queen Anne in style with a cabriole leg and a cmall diam cylindrical foot a high knee with carving on the knee. I've now gone thru all the back covers of those isssues with colored covers. That is back to about '83. I haven't paid as much attention to front covers.

Dan,

I don't know if this helps or not, but the 25th issue of FWW has a pullout section that shows every cover up to that date. It's issue #146, Winter 2000/2001. If you can't get your hands on an issue, I can photograph the pullout and e-mail it to you. The images are quite small, but I can make them High-Res so you can zoom in close.

A photo would be great. I was thinking of asking someone if it was issue #128 and the "shaker" table in there. Not sure though.
