With wildfires raging in the southeast again (and Arizona) I am reminded to say thank you to the folks who are out there on the fire lines fighting to save forests and homes. You risk your lives every day and it is greatly appreciated.

Ya know, when we're hung up in our own problems, it's easy to overlook the problems of others. Thanks Belinda...and a big thumbs up to all of our emergency workers. 'specially the ones fighting the fires and heat out in the AZ

I'll add my thanks! We see those boys every summer here....some from all over the US and the world as a matter of fact. Our fire season is a few weeks away.

Millwood Fire. The home of close friends is threatened by this fire. They live in an area where three fires are about to converge.

A "thank you" seems so inadequate at this time. A firefighter lost his life earlier this week fighting a church fire in Muncie, IN. My prayers go for him, his family and those who were working with him.

2007 all over again. Just scary. 225,000 acres burned so far. The folks fighting these fires are doing an amazing job.

I would like to 2nd that Thank You. I live in eastern NC and there has been a wildfire/forest fire in one of the coastal counties for over a month. The smoke is still drifting westward depending on the wind, and it's not unusual to walk outside in the morning and smell smoke. Those folks have a dangerous job and my hat is off to them.

A map showing locations of current burns. That's a whole lot of fire.

Two firefighters died yesterday battling a wildfire in North Florida. Please say a prayer for their families.
