I've looked online, but can't nail this down. I just bought a brace in excellent condition. The only writing is on the chuck. It says "Goodell Pratt Co. Greenfield Mass USA Pat. Dec. 27, 1892. I can't tell whether this is one manufactured around the turn of the century by the company itself or by Millers Falls under that brand name in the thirties after it acquired the company. I can't find any other identifying marks and it looks like pictures I have seen from both periods.

Any help would be appreciated.

It isn't always the case, but patent dates usually were only on an item for the first 15 years of an its manufacture.

Sometimes before a patent ran out, a lot of the parts with the patent information would be made to use over following years.
