For today's project I grabbed a chunk of mulberry to turn a hf. I had every intention of trying a different shape, but alas, just like every other time I've intended on something new, my gouge takes on a life of it's own and proceeds to cut a shape I've become very familiar with. I must like this style since I turn so many of them, but I would like to turn something different (at least different for me), I guess we'll see what tomorrow brings...
It's about 6" x 5-5 1/2" (didn't measure), walls just under 1/8" with just a coat of BLO so far. This was turned from a 1/4 section of a log, the pith was rotten and there were some other areas of rot/punk. Ended up with 1 small void and the darkest areas were pretty punky. Turned green and you can see how the opening has already warped (this happened within about 30 minutes of starting to hollow), but no cracks anywhere.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I really like mulberry, the color and contrasts in the grain can really be nice.
Sorry, the 4th pic is out of focus.

Thanks for looking!
As always comments and critiques are welcome.
