I recently purchased a hollowing system for deep hollowforms. This one is 18" tall, 9" in diameter and 1/8" thick right down to the bottom. It's made from Buckeye Burl. I'll try to do a review on the tool if anyone is interested. I entered this piece in an art show at Beavers Bend State Park, near Broken Bow, OK and won 1st place in the professional woodturners category. Your comments and critiques are very welcome.

TIA, Ken

Thats a great vessel Ken. My only critique is not being told WHICH hollowing system you bought and how it performed! :)

Ken, this is a wonderfully done piece! Great form and beautiful wood. Where did you acquire a buckeye burl of that size?? I assume you oriented the form with the direction of the pith of the tree vs. perpendicular?

As others stated, information and a review of the hollowing system is a must!

Well I already have a hollowing rig. But I, too, would like to know which one comes with the skill needed to do that. Evidently, I got the wrong one! Beautiful!!!

Absolutely spectacular. Where did you get a BE burl that big? Add me to the list of people wanting a hollower review.

That's a beautiful piece of wood, Ken. What's even more impressive is what you did with it! Stunning!

Hey Ken, looking good. Excellent form, good curve, nice chunk of buckeye. First place in pro division? Wow.

You have Dick turned on to making a heavy duty tool like the one you have. I've seen the McEvoy tool in action and it's a great one for turning deep stuff. I turned a few pieces years ago up to around 20 inches deep but I have no desire to do that anymore. I used a Stewart tool with a 21 inch bar. Pretty scary.
