My son made this "wedding pen set" for the bride and groom at his cousin's wedding this weekend. He is 13 and has been turning for around 2 years. We will be going to the symposium at the end of the month and he is very excited.

Also my sister in law asked me last Thursday if I could make 10 bird house ornaments for her to give as gifts. The wedding is in Santa Fe so we are leaving tomorrow. I finished the last one tonight but I haven't taken a picture of it yet. Here are a few of them. I did them assembly style by making all the houses, then the perch, finial and then the roofs. The houses are either pecan or cedar and the other parts are either oak, osage orange, ash, walnut, birch and maple. These don't have the birds on in these pictures.

Paul, You and your son are on my do-do list.:(:( For one I will not be able to attend the Symposium and two, you son is getting into wood turning at an early age. I am very envious. It will be interesting to see what he is turning in 10 years if he sticks with. Beautiful work. Make sure you take those to St. Paul. He will get a lot of compliments. Nice job.

These pens are really very beautiful. I really like them. Your son is very creative. And the bird houses made by you are pretty awesome. It is good to gift something in couple to Bride and groom, as ti feels good and touching, specially to the couple you are gifting it.
