I turned this first of year. Maple burl base and uprights with hollowed and pierced Walnut HF. I received a very nice 2 page critique from Alan Carter. We just had our Grand Rapids Festival of the Arts this past weekend. I entered this piece in the Grand Rapids Art Museum Regional Art Competition. I won an award!!!!! And if that wasn't great I met the gentleman yesterday who bought it. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

That is an incredible piece. I've just started bowl and form turning and have copied a few pieces that I've seen here..... BUT, it will be a long time before I will be able to flater you by trying to copy your work. Way over the top as far as I'm concerned and well deserving of the recognition.

Thanks Matt. Our wood turning guild had a booth this last weekend at the Festival. It also needs to be noted that Matt mopped up selling mushrooms and rolling pins. We couldn't keep them on the table. He had to go home and turn more. I don't know the totals but I'll bet the house that Matt was high seller and the booth had its best sales ever. Great weekend for everyone

I don't know Keith. My problem is I ordered a shield and I am afraid it is going to be 3-4 sizes to small:eek::eek::)
