Today is the 67th anniversary of the D-Day invasion. May we never forget the courage and sacrifice of so many young men.

I totally agreed. Sad that your post was first mention I've heard today; not even documented on my pocket calendar! This day is a lot more significant and meaningful than several other holidays celebrated.

Unfortunately there are a couple of generations of young folks that have no idea about what D Day was and what sacrifices were made for them. I taught my kids about it and they are teaching their kids. There were a lot of WWII vets on both sides of our family (many of them wounded in action) that are now gone.
