Sometimes the wood & Mother Nature dictates what to do with it. We ended up with 5 really nice size 2 inch thick slabs. I just wish that I had the knowledge & tools to make those into tables, they will be something special. I will have some turning fun out of it too.

Sam, I would be bound and determined to take those two larger slabs and build a table base for them. They would look great positioned as they are, on cleats, with a glass top.

Now....the rest of that stuff looks like some sweet lathe fodder! Congrats!

I agree with John - the 2 large slabs would make a great looking table! Looking forward to seeing what you turn out of the rest!

Here is another vote for a glass topped table using the slabs. Looking forward to what the results of all of it is.

Sam, Those are some nice looking slabs there. Check on the flatwork forum side and maybe get some ideas for a nice table, then turn a nice vase out of the bigger piece to go on the table and that would be really awesome. Keep us informed on the progress.

That's cool, Sam. It looks like you ended up with some nice turning pieces in addition to the great slabs.

Pretty cool Sam. Those slabs are going to make a heck of a racket while they are spinnning around on the lathe! :)
