I just order a PowerCarver... the specs state it needs 45 psi @ 1.5 cfm... my compressor is a 27gal Power mate it produces 8.2 cfm @ 40 psi.. I have been looking is there a pressure reducer that I can dial in the cfm.. I dont want to smoke this tool when I first get it... Or will the cfm matter as long as I can produce 45 psi... thanks for the feed back... everyone has been very helpful ........ ART

All you have to be concerned with is that you use the spec'd pressure which can be set using the PRESSURE regulator, and that your compressor will supply at least the required CFM.

Set the pressure to 45CFM with the carver running and the carver will determine how much CFM to consume as long as the compressor will supply that much. Looks like you are in good shape.
