This Red Maple Tree from my yard was downed by the recent winds here in Georgia. It was is a bad state of decay. I cut a 12" x 6" blank and just kept turning until I reached solid wood. It has a 6 1/2" diameter and is 2 1/2" high. The finial is3" high -- Sourwood. Finished with OBs Shine Juice and buffed.

This Segmented Vase is Mahogany and Yellowheart. It is 6 1/2" high with a 4 1/2" diameter. There are 18 Rings with 16 Segments per ring and a solid mahogany bottom. Finish with OB's Shine Juice and Bulled.

Hey..these are great Bill! I like the forms on both. I adjusted the color in the pictures to remove some of the yellow. Hope you don't mind. If you do mind, just say so, and I'll jump off of a building immediately.

Very cool pieces, Bill. I especially like the segmented piece - looks like stitches or zippers.

But John, you neglected to tell Bill that his camera was set for daylight color balance, when it should have been set for tungsten, and that's why the images were orange !!

My camera (Olympus FE-5010) don't have setting like that. It has: Auto, Sunny, Cloudy, Incandescent, Fluorescent1, Fluorescent2 and Fluorescent3. Also, there is a "ISOP" (What ever that is) - Auto H.Auto 64, 100 200 and 400, 800, 1600. I don't know what these settings are, so I just use "AUTO". Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated?.
