John has a very nice two page showing in the latest issue of the AAW's magazine! The wave bowls look fantastic and the little bio was great too. Congrats again, it is well deserved. I just love those wave bowls, but I haven't worked out how they are made .....YET!

I'm still trying to figure his method..i like the one with the black on outside and natural wood on inside. One idea...ah no that won't work.was it laminated in the square?, then turned..uh..let me know if you get a revelation?

Congrats John. I don't get the magazine, so I won't see the spread, but I'M, glad your wave bowls got recognition. Being as old as I am, i have seen the technique and know how it is done. But until John chooses to share, I'm staying mum. Funny thing about woodworking is the changes it makes over time & and how they repeat. Just like clothing fashions! Old things, are new again. Bravo John!

I've searched my memory banks, and if I'm not too senile, I remember making bowls like this BUT BUT, John has upped the game by making the waves protrude. That part is new if my memory serves. That takes this up quite a notch and makes it a much harder bowl to make. So Go John ! and again, I'm pleased to see fellow creekers get the recognition they deserve!

John,

You have found your niche or voice in your turning and think you recognition is very much deserved.

Congratulations.

Well deserved recognition John. Those are wonderful bowls.

Maybe in the future you could post an article on the process.
