Actually got this one turned this afternoon. Had a guy send me this wood a few years ago, made a beautiful box call out of it with a birdseye maple paddle and gave that to a really good friend who has taken a few birds with it. The guy I got the wood from said they were making pallets out of this, couldnt believe it!!!!!! Some of the most amazing curl I have ever seen in a piece of cherry. The ferule is elk antler and the mouthpiece is buffalo horn.

I would never have been able to identify that as a piece of cherry. Amazing piece of wood!

That call won't work for pallets, Jim. You have to make one that sounds like a forklift. Sheesh.

Beautiful piece, Lee!!! :)

Looks like a Misfire to me. :) Just kidding that is a great looking piece of wood. If it sounds half as good as it looks it is a winner.

Howdy Russell, it is indeed a Misfire.
Thanks for the compliments guys. I need to find that pallet place myself, somewhere in Massachusetts. Long drive for me, but if I could find more of that wood, certainly would be worth the drive

Ain't that some kind of crime, using wood like that to make pallets?

I think so, needs to be flogged, set in an ant pile for a day and then hung!
