Good day

I would like to compare these two bandsaws. Just looking for the quality. I will be resawing a lot of wide boards for veneer.

The big general 20" model 390 with 12" resaw capacity 3hp weight 890lbs

The Laguna 18lt with 18" resaw capacity 4.5 hp weight: 510 lbs.

The Laguna as a greater resaw capacity which is attractive, But I wonder how often I will need the extra resaw capacity.

I could get either saws for about the same price.

thanks for your comment

Hi Martin,

I just replied to your other thread...I actually have the older style Laguna LT18 and I love it. I retrofitted mine to the new motor and the ceramic guides so it works the same as the newer style, just less resaw. I think that the guides are the best thing out there and the Baldor motor is great -- providing a lot of torque. It is a great machine and the Driftmaster fence is also something to consider. I am not familiar with the General saw, although I do own other General equipment and it is all high quality too. I like the Euro-style bandsaws myself and would not hesitate to recommend the Laguna.
