I just found out I won the Vandenberg Jeweler Award for 3D art at the Grand Rapids Art Competition. My piece is titled "Altared Walnut". Pierced walnut and Maple burl. Suspended. Two friends, Scott Fles and John Smith, working in collaboration on a segmented hot air balloon won the Ron DenBroder Memorial Wood Turning award.
