First duck call

This is my first attempt at making a duck call. It is for our cousin's son who graduates from high school this year. He likes to duck hunt, so if it works, maybe he can get some use out of it. If there are any duck hunters on board, how do you tune these things if they don't sound right? Any comments or help would be appreciated.

Nicely done, I love the wood combinations, did you laminate the wood yourself? Reminds me of some gun stocks I have seen for the Ruger Charger/1022. There are several people on here that turn these I am sure they will give you some input on tuneing as soon as they see this.
