This is the first lage bowl that I've ever made. It's just a glueup of 4 layers of Walnut. It measures 12" diam. x about 3 1/2" high. Comments and Criticisms welcome.

Great looking bowl but an extraordinary looking lathe. Has it got a "model" number.;)

James,
Instead of a PowerMatic 3520, Mine is a "MorganoMatic 20 x 43". I did a post awhile back on the build. It's at: http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?157754-A-wooden-wood-lathe-my-4th-or-5th-model&highlight=

Ed, I don't think it is going to matter (for ever) what you turn, you are going to get more complements on the lathe than anything else. Oh yea, nice bowl by the way:D:D:D

Ed, that really made into a nice bowl! The inside shot looks neat with the glue-up. But, you have illustrated the problem with your wood bodied lathe - certain woods "clash" with the oak, etc. You will need to be more color conscious with the woods you choose!!!;):D

very nice, you are doing the right thing by using the tailstock as much as possible
