That is a pretty nice new toy..........I forgot the specs on the 4224, so I will ask........does the headstock slide to the end of the ways? I was wondering because of the motor position underneath the ways..........

A couple of our club members have that lathe, and I have not heard anything but good reports about it.

Rodger, I'm not sure. I haven't had time to play with it, just yet. to busy trying to move the 900 lb beast.

John, The LOML mumbled something similar that, as she was giving me "The Look"

I don't think you are spiraling down into the vortex. You just jumped into the black hole and there is definitely no escape from the black hole of woodturning.

That's awesome, Larry! I've got the little brother to that one, and I love it.

I think you're almost at the end of the vortex after buying that lathe...

So I take it this lathe ate your benchtop delta midi up whole?

Great piece of machinery you have there. Can't wait to see shavings all over it.

Welcome to Club Mustard. The next thing I got was a Cherry Picker to move blanks around with.

Gary, seeing all the posting of you turning tree trunks, made me jealous

A hearty congrat's on the big yellow monster. I had a chance to pick up a lightly used one a few years ago and passed. Still kicking myself over that one!

Nope the headstock does not move on the 4224. You can see on the corners that it is bolted down. Plus a buddy of mine has one. Still it is an awesome machine.
